Here at Sugar&Skin we use an ancient old technique called Sugaring to remove your stubborn hair from any part of your body.

What is sugaring?

Sugaring has been around for centuries dating all the way back to Egyptian times! The Sugar paste consist of three ingredients--sugar, water, and lemon. Those ingredients are melted down to form a sticky paste that we use to remove your unwanted hair. Sugaring is all natural and less abrasive on the skin.

How does sugaring work?

Well to start off you need your hair to be grown out to about the length of a grain of rice. When done correctly, sugaring removes the hair from the root with out causing skin damage (unlike other methods). This special technique involves using NO sticks or strips, only your hand! While the paste is applied against hair growth, it seeps into your pores and wraps itself around the hair follicle, we then remove the paste using a flicking motion causing less irritation and redness.

What are the benefits of Sugaring?

Anytime someone talks about waxing I instantly cringe! Sugaring has a ton of benefits that would beat waxing any day. Here are just a few examples as to why! To start off sugar paste is all natural and can be made with organic ingredients. It is biodegradable, hypoallergenic, and can treat certain skin conditions like psoriasis and eczema! Sugar does not adhere to live skin cells meaning its less aggressive. I know first hand that waxing is not. Wax not only grabs onto your hair but your skin also and it can cause major bruising and skin damage. Its not uncommon to get skin tears or burns from waxing. Sugar on the other hand is never hot to the touch so you will never get burned from the paste. Its faster, less painful, and you get better results since we remove in the direction of hair growth causing less breakage. It can eventually lead to permanent hair loss as well!
